Erica Laub, MSW, LICSW-S, CCTP (she/her)
Meet Erica
Erica has worked with many adult clients who have a history of childhood trauma, abuse or neglect. She is especially skilled in partnering with adults who have experienced physical, sexual, emotional, psychological or religious abuse within their relationships. It can be difficult to recognize all types of abuse in our relationships (familial, romantic and social), which can make survivors feel isolated and alone. Erica takes a non-judgmental but affirming approach when working with this special population. She works with clients to process their trauma, support the development of coping skills and find their own sense of empowerment.
So many clients come to therapy with negative self-talk – listening to the negative voice in their head. Erica takes a strengths-based approach to examine this negative voice and partner with clients to develop skills to limit distorted, unhelpful beliefs. It takes emotional work to undo patterns of thinking that do not serve us well; in therapy, you don’t have to go through that alone. Erica believes that navigating all of life’s stressors and transitions can be challenging and reaching out for solutions, even on a short-term basis, can be helpful.
Erica is an independent contractor and currently sees clients via telehealth.
